Strategic mandate for NAV CANADA
multiple-media.com has been given a new and exciting strategic Web mandate for NAV CANADA, the country's civil air navigation services provider.
A private sector, non-share capital corporation,
NAV CANADA co-ordinates the safe and efficient movement of
aircraft in Canadian domestic airspace and international airspace
assigned to Canadian control. It provides air traffic control,
flight information, weather briefings, aeronautical information,
airport advisory services, and electronic aids to
navigation.
NAV CANADA operates one of
the world's most advanced and secure civil air navigation system
(ANS), with facilities that include 7 area control centres and
over 100 airport control towers and flight service stations.
With an increasing number of clients turning to
the Internet for different types of business applications, NAV
CANADA aims to upgrade its Web services with a user-centric
focus.
multiple-media.com's mandate involves providing key
analyses, based on various tools - such as ethnographic studies -
in order to contribute to NAV CANADA's long-term Web strategy
(three to five years). One important factor in NAV CANADA's
decision to turn to multiple-media.com was the high-profile
academic background of its founder, Renato Cudicio (who is known
for doing international usability research on Web interfaces and
productivity). Says Renato, who will be travelling the
country to garner information about users, their habits and
preferences: "NAV CANADA is a major, very proactive organisation,
and the perspective of contributing to its online presence in any
way, shape or form is extremely stimulating."
