Quebec Companies Yet Need to Discover YouTube’s Marketing Potential


The results of the latest multiple-media.com Barometer survey are crystal-clear: YouTube is part of the online marketing strategies of only 8% of Quebec companies.

So far, Quebec companies don’t use online video very much in their marketing strategies, according to the fourth monthly edition of the multiple-media.com Barometer survey. The survey interviews Marketing and IT executives working in Quebec companies with over 50 employees. In fact, only 8% of Quebec companies presently post videos on YouTube, the popular social media website.

Online video is increasingly popular and since YouTube is the undisputed North American leader of online video, the multiple-media.com Barometer team was curious to see if–and how–Quebec companies were using it at all. The results are crystal-clear: by not using social media websites in general–and YouTube in particular–to post their videos, and by not using adequate SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques, Quebec companies are missing out on a major opportunity to increase brand awareness and drive traffic to their corporate website.

“At a time where most Web strategies hinge on Search Engine positioning and visibility, if a company is not using online vide–and especially YouTube–coupled with a SEO angle, that should immediately raise a red flag, said Renato Cudicio, president of multiple-media.com and author of the fourth multiple-media.com Barometer.
