multiple-media.com optimizes Hydro-Québec Scientific Databases
multiple-media.com has successfully completed a key mandate for Hydro-Québec, optimizing databases of its Environment Department (Unité Environment).
By integrating a number of the department's
databases, multiple-media.com allows its specialists to do
cross-researches on multiple factors within ecosystems. This
optimization process is part of an effort by Hydro-Québec to
enhance its knowledge base concerning sustainable development.
"Thanks to the leading edge work carried out by
multiple-media.com, several of Hydro-Québec databases have
now achieved increased maturity and offer better performances;
this will allow us to leverage our data more efficiently and
significantly increase our environmental knowledge," said Alain
Tremblay, from the Unité Environment.
"We are proud to be able to help
Hydro-Québec develop its knowledge concerning the
environment," said Renato Cudicio, president of
multiple-media.com. "This optimization of its research tools
opens up new and extremely positive perspectives, in key sectors,
for the public utility."
This is not the first mandate that multiple-media.com has
carried out for Hydro-Québec: the Montreal company is on the
list of the public utility's regular suppliers ever since it
rebuilt one of Unité Environment's scientific databases, in
2002. It has also used its leading edge usability expertise to
modify the main search tool's interface so that it could be used
by non-specialists.
In 2006, multiple-media.com did more for
Hydro-Québec than optimizing databases, mainly introducing
new query levels and automating certain researches. The Montreal
company also produced a new, drill-down access to information
directly from geographical maps.
