Launching of MMCM 6.2

With two new major functions

Renato Cudicio, president of multiple-media.com, announced today the go-live of MMCM 6.2, the latest version of the Montreal agency’s proprietary CMS. The migration of the sites powered by MMCM was carried out in several phases over a period of three weeks, to make sure that no downtime would occur.

This important update introduces two new major functions: first, users can now customize common contents within a site; second, they now enjoy a new, enhanced version of the WYSIWYG HTML editor.

“Internal syndication”

Companies that cover different geographical areas and/or target very different clienteles but do not wish to manage several sites can now centralize content management operations and automatically disseminate content tailored to different target audiences.

MMCM 6.2 applies a logic of syndicated information within the same site by supporting personalized content cloning, i.e. different graphic presentations and text contents for various sections. To do this, MMCM relies on a new module which directly inserts variables and style sheets that are editable by MMCM users.

A new version of the HTML editor

As announced over a year ago, a new version of the editor HTML has been integrated this Spring to MMCM–right on schedule. Given the complexity of the underlying code, the MMCM developing team waited until the editor was perfectly stable before they personalized it, in order to make sure that it operated smoothly within MMCM.

Even though the new version offers relatively few surface changes–since the major improvements introduced involve the inner workings of the CMS–MMCM users will nevertheless find a number of functions very useful:

  • Mac compatibility: APPLE users will be very happy to hear that MMCM’s HTML editor is now compatible with Safari 3.1.
  • Cut-and-paste in text format: with MMCM 6.1, instead of going through an external text editor, users now simply open dialogue boxes to clean HTML codes or word processing software codes.
  • Paragraph visualization: users can now visualize underlying HTML paragraphs in MMCM without using the “source code" mode.
  • Find-and-replace: just like word processors, MMCM 6.2 supports the automatic replacement of character strings, even for the HTML code.
  • Forms: MMCM 6.2 makes it easy to create and edit forms to use MMCM’s structured email module.

Thanks to MMCM’s SaaS (Software as a Service) operating mode, this significant update of MMCM was carried out at no expense for MMCM customers, and with no negative impact on their operations.
